REST DAYS ☁️ 💤 As important as WORKING OUT‼️

I used to feel guilty for resting even just 1 day because I thought the more I workout the better progress I would make🤦🏻‍♀️

Here are some facts of over-training that I wish I knew before I started my fitness journey

1️⃣Slows down or even stops weight-loss progress.
The more you work out the more weight you lose? Not necessarily. It actually can have the opposite effect leading to a plateau in your weight loss journey

2️⃣Muscles not able to recover and decrease in performance: You need rest to allow your muscles to repair and your body to absorb the training you have been doing. This process is what makes your muscles stronger than before

3️⃣Messes with your menstrual cycle (can lead to losing your period): The drop in estrogen can causes premature bone loss, making you weaker and more susceptible to injury�
4️⃣Burnout and less motivation: Doing anything excessively and going all-out 24/7 may lead to over-exhaustion and you burning out, even eventually giving up

5️⃣Injuries: Pushing too hard without a break can lead to over-use of our muscles and joints and thats where injuries can happen

❌Not having enough rest also causes abnormal appetite, anxiety, mood swings, poor sleeping patterns, decreased immunity, and altered hormonal states

Fitness is a life-long pursuit and balance is key. Say goodbye to the guilt and give your body the rest that it deserves, because you are actually doing your body good and making BETTER fitness progrese. Use the time to enjoy life, spend time with your loved ones - missing one day of workout is NOT the end of the world. Life is so much more than just staying fit, as important as it is!
